Aldi Discount Grocery Store Headed for Loganville

The store is permitted to go in on the Gwinnett County side of the city.

City Manager Bill Jones confirmed that permits have been issued for an Aldi Supermarket to open in Loganville. He said the preferred location at this time is west of Discount Tire on the Gwinnett County side of the city. He has not said when the store is likely to open.

According to the Aldi website, the German grocery store carries an assortment of about 1,400 frequrently purchased grocery items that it sells under its own brands. These items are reported to be significantly discounted against other comparable items.

According to Aldi’s website, the company backs its private label products with an exclusive double guarantee – if a customer is not satisfied, Aldi will refund the money as well as replace the item. The store offers other national brands as well as its own brand products. As well as carrying lower-priced, private-label brands, the company claims to keep prices low in other ways. These includeΒ not accepting credit cards and operating a cart-deposit system that requires shoppers to insert a quarter in order to obtain a shopping cart.
