Burned Body Near Gwinnett Place Mall Identified: Gwinnett Police

Raul Zapata-Garcia, 47, is believed by police to have been shot at least once before his body was burned and left near a busy intersection.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Duluth man believed to have been shot and whose burned body was found near Gwinnett Place Mall was identified Friday by Gwinnett County Police.

The burned body of Raul Zapata-Garcia, 47, was found Monday on a wooded trail near the intersection of Satellite Boulevard and West Liddell Road. Gwinnett Police said they believe the body appears to have been shot at least once and are investigating.
