Business Spotlight: A Polished Finish

A Polished Finish is a Loganville-based company that offers remodeling for cabinets and countertops in bathrooms and kitchen areas. Having been in the area for 10 years, the local family-based business decided to open a second location also in town.

Owner Mark Hayes spoke with Loganville-Grayson Patch to talk about the business, the new showroom and their grand opening.

Loganville-Grayson Patch: Tell me a little bit about A Polished Finish. 

Mark Hayes: We are a cabinet and countertop company. We do primarily granite countertops and cabinets for kitchens and baths. We've been in the business for 10 years and a few months back, we opened an additional showroom. We're having a grand opening on Sept. 14 to let people know that we're here.

Patch: So this is your second location?

Hayes: Yes. Our other location is in Loganville, but it's on the other side of town. It's open by appointment only. It's where we do our fabrication for the granite. 

Patch: Why did you choose Loganville for your business?

Hayes: I'm originally from Snellville, but we moved out to Loganville, so that's why we originally picked it to open up a business. We wanted to be closer to the newer part of Loganville, so that's why we opened a new showroom there. 

Patch: What makes A Polished Finish different than other remodeling businesses?

Hayes: I would say our attention to customer service and detail. We strive to help the customer choose the right materials and finishes for their home instead of treating everyone like another number. 

Patch: What are your prices like? Is it affordable?

Hayes: Yes, we're very competitive with price. Being a small business, we've been able to keep the prices down and still provide a good service.

Patch: Is it a family-owned business?

Hayes: It is. We have 11 employees currently. I run the business with my wife, Brittany. We also have a 5-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old daughter.

Patch: What else can people expect at the grand opening Saturday? 

Hayes: We're giving away a big green egg, gift certificates that you can use here, and a 32-inch flat-screen TV. Expect free food, too, a jumpy or bounce house for kids, and a big sale.

A Polished Finish has two locations, both in Loganville: 1213 Nathan Blvd. Suite C, and 220 Athens Hwy., which is its newest showroom and will have a grand opening Saturday (Sept. 14) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The showroom's regular business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit apolishedfinish.com.
