Coronavirus: Loganville Senior Sews Masks From Retirement Home
Loganville seamstress Nancy Williams, 96, says the masks she sews from her retirement home are like a "war effort" — and she's still sewing.
LOGANVILLE, GA — Nancy Williams may be 96 and in a retirement home, but that hasn’t stopped her from helping during the coronavirus pandemic — she’s sewn 150 masks so far for anyone who needs one, according to WSB-TV.
“My daughter says it’s like a ‘war effort,” Williams told WSB-TV reporter Berndt Petersen. “It’s for the virus. And I hand them out to anyone who wants them.”
She’s sewn masks for healthcare professionals at The Retreat of Loganville. She's also sewn masks for her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the medical profession.
