Resident Answers Door, Finds Dead Squirrel: Walton County Sheriff's Office Alerts

The Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to the following calls Jan. 17-20.

Zone 1

 
Suspicious Activity – Three subjects were seen acting suspiciously around a vehicle parked at a residence on Lakeshore Drive in Lakeshore Estates. When the homeowner turned on the lights the subjects ran off.
 
Extra Patrol – Subjects were reportedly laying drag on Monroe Jersey Rd. Extra Patrol was requested.
 
 
Zone 2
 
Entering Auto – A vehicle was entered on Hancock Drive.
 
Entering Auto – The front passenger side window of a vehicle was busted out while parked at a church off Hwy 11. A purse, wallet and other miscellaneous items were taken from the vehicle.
 
Theft – A horse was taken from a pasture on Willow Springs Church Rd.
 
 
Zone 3
 
Extra Patrol – A suspicious vehicle was reported on Bearden Blvd. The vehicle was described as a silver Audi with a Florida license plate. Extra Patrol requested.
 
 
Zone 5
 
Theft – Two Stihl chainsaws were found missing from a workshop located at a residence on Still Rd.
 
Arrest – Tracy Andrews was arrested off New Hope Church Rd. in reference to a DUI.
 
Safety Check – Two arrests were made for Possession of Marijuana less than an Ounce during a safety check on Bay Creek Church Rd. at Old Zion Cemetery Rd. During the safety check, deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. 
 
Entering Auto – A firearm was taken from an unlocked vehicle on Mystic Drive.
 
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Rambling Woods Drive. All windows and doors appeared secure.
 
Arrest – On Bold Springs Rd. @ Carl Davis Rd., Brandon Chapman was arrested and charged with DUI-under 21 YOA. Passenger, Avery Wread, was arrested for under age consumption of alcohol.
 
Extra Patrol – Several trucks with trailers were seen in the area of Ashland Falls Drive. Extra Patrol requested.
 
Damage to Property – A residence and a vehicle was egged on Hillside Rd.
 
Arrest – Lee Mitchell was arrested on Dogwood Dell Rd. in reference to an outstanding warrant.
 
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence off Grand Columns Circle in Columns @ Providence. All windows and doors appeared secure.
 
 
Zone 6
 
Suspicious Activity – A resident on Pebblebrook Lane answered the door after the doorbell rang and found a dead squirrel carcass on the doorstep.
 
Armed Robbery – Two subjects robbed a store clerk at Between Grocery. The subjects held the clerk at gunpoint and took cash and cigarettes.
 
Arrest – Richard Harbour was cited and arrested for Disorderly Conduct off Claude Brewer Rd.
 
Arrest – Phillip Harrison was arrested off Milton Bryan Drive in Bryans Lake in reference to a valid warrant.
 
Suspicious Vehicle – Travis Johnson was arrested at a church off Youth Monroe Rd. in reference to a valid warrant.
 
 
Zone 7
 
Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm at a residence off Springwood Drive. The alarm was accidently set off.
