Farmers Market, Start of Election Season: This Week in Loganville, Grayson

Check out what's happening in the area from Aug. 26-31.

Here's what happening in Loganville and Grayson this week: 

1. & 2. Qualifying Week for the November election is this Monday (Aug. 26) through Wednesday (Aug. 28) for both Grayson and Loganville. In Grayson, two council seats and the mayor's seat will be on the ballot. Loganville has three seats and the mayor's seat on the table.

3. The Grayson Farmers Market is being held this Wednesday (Aug. 28) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grayson City Park. Click here for more details.

4. Football! Grayson and South Gwinnett both lost in their season openers last Saturday, and while South Gwinnett is taking a break this week, Grayson will be playing at home against North Gwinnett. All other Loganville- and Grayson-area teams kick off their seasons that Friday, too. Loganville High plays its first 2013 game against Monroe Area at home, Walnut Grove is at Woodland in Stockbridge, and Archer plays at Mountain View.

5. Matters of the Heart, hosted by Pastor Nedra Buckmire and the Extraordinary Women of Spirit And Truth Worship Center in Loganville, is being held Friday (Aug. 30) at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday (Aug. 31) at 8 a.m. The event aims to connect women of all ages to connect with Jesus Christ. The church is located at 277 Main St. Click here for more details.
