Fire Guts Lawrenceville Home Over Weekend
Gwinnett firefighters took about 45 minutes to control a fire that consumed a home on Shoals Circle SE, leaving the structure a total loss.

GWINNETT COUNTY — Fire consumed a house Saturday morning on the 500 block of Shoal Circle SE in Lawrenceville, with the structure and its contents a total loss.
An occupant of the house asleep on the couch awoke to the smell of smoke and called for help at about 5:58 a.m. The house was full involved when trucks arrived five minutes later, according to a statement from Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
Flames were already shooting through the roof over much of the structure as firefighters went to work. The blaze was declared under control at 6:43 a.m.

The four adult occupants and a dog escaped unharmed. The American Red Cross is providing them with temporary assistance.
