Here are the top five stories today in Loganville-Grayson:

  1. As of 6:00 a.m. yesterday, the Labor Day weekend road fatalities in Georgia were the same as were reported in 2021. The Georgia Department of Public Safety reported 11 fatalities in the early morning. At the time of the report, no fatalities were reported in Gwinnett County. (Monroe Local News - Loganville)
  2. A homicide investigation began yesterday in Gwinnett County. A male victim was found in the front yard of a Suwanee home on Ridge Oak Drive. As of Monday afternoon, no other details were released about the victim or the investigation. (CBS 46 News)

  4. The suspect in the attempted jewelry robbery at Macy's at the Mall of Georgia on Sept. 2 has been identified as a Loganville native. Jose Reyes-Serrato, 27, was identified as the suspect by the Gwinnett County Police Department. Reyes-Serrato, stabbed an employee who tried to intervene resulting in life-threatening injuries and attempted to flee when he was shot by police. The suspect was in stable condition at the hospital over the weekend. (Monroe Local News - Loganville)
  5. The Gwinnett Chamber recognized women business leaders in the county last week with over 600 attendees at the event. Over 100 women were finalists at the chamber's 2022 Moxie Awards where seven winners were announced. Gwinnett Chamber President and CEO said, “The Moxie Awards seek to highlight innovative and driven women leaders who are making an impact in their places of work, their communities, and their families."
