GHS Take Two Seconds and Tie for 13th Overall at Boys State Track and Field Championship

Grayson High School had a strong showing at the Boys State Track and Field Championship that took place from May 2 - 4 in Jefferson, Ga. Christian Smith got second place in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.80 and the team got second in the 4x100 Relay with a time of 42.26. Jomari Collie earned sixth place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.28.

Woodrome won the 1,600 meters in a time of 4 minutes, 15.85 seconds and Cheeks won the 200 in a time of 22.01 seconds.

The Mill Creek 4x400 relay team, which included Woodrome and Cheeks, also won first place in a time of 3:24.22. Braden Canamare and Allen Eckles were also on that relay team.

In Class AA, Darius Slayton won the 100 and 200 meters as Greater Atlanta Christian finished second in the team standings. Westminster won with 72 points; GAC had 62 points.
