Gunshots Near Loganville High Prompt Lockdown
Two teens were arrested following the Monday incident.

Loganville High went under lockdown Monday (Sept. 9)Â after gunshots were heard near the school.Â
According to Loganville Police Chief Mike McHugh, a teacher at the Walton County Christian Learning Center on the backside of Loganville High called authorities after hearing three gunshots early in the afternoon.
Loganville High went under a level one lockdown at 2:15 p.m., about half an hour before school ends for the day.
Walton County Schools spokeswoman Kimberly Embry told Patch that level one is the least serious lockdown, but exterior doors are locked and everyone stays in the rooms. The students may not even realize they're under lockdown, she continued.
When Loganville Police came out to investigate, they found two male teens walking along Old Zion Cemetery Road. Authorities connected them to the gunshots, but neither were arrested specifically on gun-related charges: The 17-year-old was charged with underage drinking and the other, 16, was charged with disruption of a school.Â
The lockdown was called off around the time school let out at 2:50 p.m.Â
