Gwinnett Summer Youth Police Program Taking Applications

The Youth Police Academy is for Gwinnett County middle school and high school students. They will get classroom and practical experience.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — The Gwinnett Police Department will host its summer Youth Police Academy in June and July.

The first session has been scheduled for June 27 – July 1 for current or upcoming middle school students. The second session will be held July 18th – 22 for current or upcoming high school students. They are one week sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Access the application here.

Applications are now being accepted, and the deadline is May 16.

The Youth Police Academy (YPA) is designed to educate middle school and high school students that live in Gwinnett County about the police department and how officers enforce local and state laws. The goal of the YPA is to create and develop a relationship with students and give them an opportunity to learn about the Gwinnett Police Department’s role in the community and the services it provides.
