Hello Loganville and Grayson, I'm Your New Editor!

Hello, Loganville and Grayson! 

I am your new editor for the Loganville-Grayson Patch. I am excited to be here and hope to build on the incredible momentum Patch has going for it, as a strong community force.

Who am I? My name is Sarah Bakhtiari. I am a Georgia Peach; I was born and raised in Lilburn (Parkview Panther for life!), and I currently live in Stone Mountain. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in print journalism and a minor in English from Georgia State University.

During my last year of college, I dove straight into my journalism career. I started interning at publication after publication, from Creative Loafing to Atlanta Magazine. I eventually started freelance copy editing for more Atlanta papers.

At the same time, I became a contributing writer for Patch when Georgia's first site launched in November 2010. I freelanced, guest-edited and was also a community listings collector for Gwinnett- and DeKalb-area Patches until March 2012 when I became the full-time editor for the Norcross Patch. 

This year, Patch underwent some restructuring. This past May, I also became the editor of the Lilburn Patch in addition to covering Norcross. In July, I then was switched to covering Snellville instead of Norcross. 

And now the most recent change is here: I'm now covering Snellville, Loganville and Grayson. I believe these Patches are perfect together under the same editor because the cities work together in many areas, and many of the schools overlap. 

I am so excited to be here, and can't wait to hit the ground running. I already have gone to a Greater Eastside Chamber of Commerce luncheon, I've met with the Downtown Development Authority in Grayson, I've stopped by Loganville City Hall and I've taken a tour of Grayson Tech. From what I've seen, Loganville-Grayson Patch has some wonderful followers, readers and bloggers, and you have an incredible town.
