UPDATE: Hit-And-Run Driver Turns Self In To Gwinnett Police

The Lawrenceville man contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department on Friday.

UPDATE: Christopher Johnson, 32, of Lawrenceville turned himself into Gwinnett County Police Friday in connection with the June 10 accident that seriously injured a motorcyclist. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail and charged with hit and run, duty to report an accident, no valid insurance and suspended registration.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA —Gwinnett police needs the public’s help locating a hit-and-run driver involved in a crash earlier this month that seriously injured a motorcyclist.

Gwinnett County Police said a maroon late-model Ford Mustang apparently hit a motorcycle as the Mustang turned right from Duluth Highway onto Sugarloaf Parkway. The incident happened on Wednesday, June 10, at about 6:45 a.m.

Witnesses told police that the Mustang and its driver fled the scene after the accident, heading toward Interstate 85. The motorcyclist, a 30-year old man from Lawrenceville, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators want to identify the Mustang’s driver and speak with any other witnesses to this event. According to the incident report, witnesses at the scene described the Mustang as having black strips on its sides and damage to its front end.
