Investigators Believe Loganville Church Fire was Caused by Electrical Fault

The sanctuary of The Holy Family Knanaya Catholic Church, which was under renovations at the time, was completely destroyed by the fire.

According to Walton County Fire and Rescue Batallion Chief Craig League, the cause of a fire that destroyed the sanctuary of The Holy Family Knanaya Catholic Church in Loganville on Sunday was likely electrical.

"The consensus of all the investigators is that the fire was electrical in origin," League said. "However the final say so is still to be determined by an electrical engineer."

Fire crews were called out to the church, which is located at 3885 Rosebud Road, Loganville, in unincorporated Walton County, at 3:20 a.m. on March 10, 2013 to find the sanctuary of the church fully involved. It was completely destroyed by the fire.
