Loganville Man Faces Murder Charge Linked To Atlanta Girl's Death
A Loganville man is charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of an 8-year-old near where Rayshard Brooks died last year.

GEORGIA — A Loganville man was denied bond in Atlanta Thursday in connection with a shooting more than a year ago that killed an 8-year-old girl.
Jerrion McKinney, 23, was arrested Wednesday by the GBI and charged with murder, aggravated assault and various gang-related offenses in connection with the shooting death of rising third-grader Secoriea Turner on July 4, 2020.
Turner died in a vehicle shot at by demonstrators near the Wendy’s in southwest Atlanta where authorities say Rayshard Brooks was killed by an Atlanta police officer.

Although investigators believe as many as four people opened fire on the car, only one other person so far has been charged. Julian Conley was arrested a few weeks after Turner’s death.
GBI spokesperson Nelly Miles told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that McKinney’s arrest followed an investigation by the GBI Gang Task Force.
