Man Charged With Murder, Assault After Domestic Dispute: Police
In addition to being charged with murder, a Lawrenceville man was also charged with child cruelty, according to Gwinnett County police.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — A Lawrenceville man has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault after a domestic incident Monday that left a man dead and a woman wounded.
Justin Kattar, 29, also was charged with cruelty to children because a child witnessed the homicide, according to Gwinnett County Police spokesperson Cpl. Collin Flynn.
Authorities have identified the victim as Brandon Ricks, 24.

Gwinnett County Police responded to a call from a home on Wheylon Drive at 3 a.m. Monday after a woman called to report people had been shot.
When police arrived, they found Ricks dead in front of the residence. Police said they also found a female who had been shot, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Kattan was there when officers arrived, and he surrendered peacefully. He currently is being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.
