Man Escapes Into Woods After Driving to Police Station With Suspended License

An hour later, a woman was seen in the Loganville PD parking lot trying to move his car.

A man ran into the woods last week after authorities realized he drove to the Loganville Police Department on a suspended license.

According to the Loganville Police report, one of the detectives said he witnessed the man drive into the parking lot, park the car and walk inside the department's lobby around 4 p.m.

After being confronted about the license, the suspect then ran out of the lobby and into the woods on Tom Brewer Road, leaving his vehicle in the parking lot.

An hour after the escape, a Powder Springs woman was seen getting into the same Gold Mercedes in an attempt to leave. An officer spoke with the 45-year-old, who said she had been driving, not the man. She explained that she had parked the car at the police station, walked to the QuikTip and back when he didn't pick her up, she said.

At first, she said that she had not had any contact with the man, but when police said they witnessed the man driving, she changed her story to fit the officer's. He had indeed been driving and dropped her off at QT, she said.

That wasn't the end of her lies, though. She denied that the man asked her to pick up his car, and when police asked if they could look at her phone to confirm it, she said no. After more attempts to tell the truth, she finally broke down and said it: He had told her to pick up the car and pick him up off Tom Brewer Road.

She was charged with disorderly conduct and processed at the police department. Officers continued to search the road for the man but could not find him.
