Man Who Waited In Line To Rob Store Arrested: Gwinnett Police

Authorities say the suspect let several customers go ahead of him before he pulled a gun on the clerk at the RaceTrac on Sugarloaf Parkway.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — An accused robber who was so polite he waited in line before pulling a gun on the clerk of a convenience store was arrested over the weekend.

Christopher Demetrius Gates, 31, of Lawrenceville, was arrested and booked on July 4 into the Gwinnett County Jail, where he was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and other related offenses.

Authorities said they believe Gates is the man who robbed the RaceTrac at 3405 Sugarloaf Parkway on June 26 in unincorporated Lawrenceville. After allowing several customers to go ahead of him, Gates pulled a gun on the clerk and demanded all the money in the cash register.
