  1. Nearby Avondale Estates and the Avondale Estates Downtown Development Authority have won the 2022 Regional Excellence Award in the Great Places Category. The award was given on Oct. 28 in honor of the neighborhood's Town Green.   2. An accident on Highway 81 near the entrance of Maxie Price Chevrolet caused major traffic delays on Tuesday. Minor injuries were reported and the accident brought northbound traffic to a standstill. It took officers several hours to clear the accident, which involved a vehicle rollover.   3. A new restaurant at the Exchange at Gwinnett is celebrating its grand opening with a free meal. Fast casual eatery Gusto! specializes in wraps and bowls for quick and delicious food on the go.   5. A student from Grayson High School in Loganville was transported to the hospital after being slashed with a boxcutter by another student. The two high school students were fighting in a bathroom at the campus on Oct. 31. A teacher who was in the restroom at the time was able to break up the fight before the students could cause further harm to each other. (Macon News)
