Ongoing Back-To-School Drive Held By Commissioner Candidate

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA -- The school year has just ended. It’s time to kick back and relax for the summer. Who has time to think about the next school year when it’s more fun to focus on the fun things like graduation parties, going to the pool, and planning a vacation?

But we all know time flies when you are having fun and preparing to go back to school can cause a bit of stress and anxiety for some parents. With the current economy and rise in commerce, gathering supplies can be difficult for some.

It is with this thought in mind that Gwinnett County Commissioner Candidate Derrick Wilson said he has decided to start early to provide assistance to students and families.

“Giving back to the community has always been in my heart. That is why I am so excited to announce that we have partnered with Guardian Financial Services to host a School Supply Drive for students throughout Gwinnett County,” said Wilson. “Our goal is to provide 200+ backpacks full of supplies. We are asking everyone who is able, for donations to support those who may be
in need.”

The drive started May 27 and will go through July 27. On Aug. 3, there will be a community event where the supplies will be distributed.
