LOGANVILLE, GA — Authorities have found the parents who were wanted since May in connection with the death of their 10-year-old daughter in a Loganville house fire.

The Gwinnett County’s Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that William Linn McCue, 47, and Carina Wisniewski McCue, 38, have been charged with cruelty to children in the first and second degree and false imprisonment.

The parents have been on the run since the fire took the life of Zoe McCue on Easter Sunday and her 15-year-old brother was arrested for setting the fire at a home on the 4400 block of Beaver Road SW near Old Loganville Road in unincorporated Loganville. Police charged the boy with malice murder, felony murder and arson.

Investigators discovered that the children were sometimes locked in their bedrooms for days or months, not allowed to see anyone, including each other. Food was very limited and the children were malnourished and had no medical or dental care.

Arson investigators, along with investigators from the police department’s Special Victims Unit, located improvised camping-style toilet seat buckets and non-usable toilets. The kitchen sink had also been re-plumbed for the water from the faucet to go into a 5-gallon bucket on the floor. Additionally, the showers and bathtubs were not working in the home.

The parents fled before investigators could question them, police said, which started the search. Two months later, deputies found the couple in Cleveland, GA.

Both William and Carina were arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County Police Department where they are being held without bond.
