Here are the top stories in Loganville-Grayson today:
- It was a rough commute for Gwinnett County drivers yesterday morning after a crash closed all the westbound lanes on GA 316, between Dacula and Lawrenceville, for over 3 hours. A vehicle became trapped under a tractor trailer truck at the intersection of Fence Road, and the driver was trapped. Firefighters were able to free the driver and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Recent reports stated that the driver was in surgery, but no further update was available. An investigation is ongoing. (Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A pedestrian was hit by three cars in a fatal accident on Sunday night on Grayson Highway near Crain Drive. A Lawrenceville police officer happened on the accident, almost immediately after the incident, and saw the man in the road. The first and second drivers involved in the collision immediately pulled over to render aid, however, the third driver, returned to his car and drove away, and that driver was taken into custody later. The investigation revealed that the driver was headed south on Grayson Highway when the pedestrian stepped in front of his car. (WSBTV)
- Christopher Michael is the man behind two Gwinnett County home invasions. Last fall, five men posed as DEA officers as they busted into homes with guns and demands and terrorized the families that lived in the homes before stealing from them. The families were left wondering how they became targets but are thankful their families were not harmed. Michael has been charged with 14 crimes, but the four other men have not been arrested yet.
