- A house fire in Loganville, on Friday evening, has displaced a local family. Walton County Fire Rescue and the Loganville Fire Department responded to a call of a fire on Emerald Drive where they found heavy fire activity in the kitchen area of the home, causing major damage to the home. The Red Cross is assisting the two adults and one infant who have been displaced by the fire. Luckily, there were no injuries reported. Investigators have not reported on what caused the fire. - Spring is here, but little warmth is coming with it. We start Spring this year with cold temperatures, high fire danger, and freeze warnings. This morning, we start the day with a freeze warning, and as Spring makes its official start at 5:24 p.m., we'll most likely be ending the day with another freeze warning moving into Tuesday morning. Tonight's temperatures are expected to drop down to 28 degrees and possibly even to 25. The warnings include both Walton and Gwinnett counties. The National Weather Service has warned that crops and plants will need added protection and irrigation systems and pipes have an increased risk of bursting. Make sure to cover vegetation and leave your pipes dripping over the next several days. (Monroe Local)
- A few Gwinnett County Police officers were enjoying a softball game at George Pierce Park, in Suwanee, last week, when they heard someone calling for help. JJ Legg, Thomas Rodriguez, and Coty Stewart quickly responded to the calls and were able to revive a retired DeKalb County firefighter. The retired firefighter, Scott Corley, had gone to the fence line to retrieve a few softballs when his heart stopped and he collapsed. Luckily, one of the coaches found him quickly, and that's when the three officers were able to revive him using CPR and the defibrillator. Corley has no recollection of the events, but he is so thankful the officers were at the park and for such a quick response. He will undergo heart surgery this week, and he's expected to make a full recovery.(FOX 5 Atlanta)

- Get ready, because there is a new burger in town! The new Buford Whataburger location is opening its drive-thru on Thursday, March 23. Just in time for Gwinnett's Burger Week, the restaurant is ready to get serving. The restaurant will have private security and Gwinnett County police officers on site to help manage the added congestion. Whataburger hopes to open another 50 locations around the Atlanta area over the next 5 years. (11alive)
