Here are the top five stories in Loganville-Grayson today:

  1. On Oct. 29, five young men were arrested for loitering, prowling, and improper stopping after Clayton County officers suspected them of street racing. The five "street racers" who were allegedly blocking the intersection between Walt Stephens Road and Highway 138 are residents of Loganville and Winder. Officers said they also seized a small amount of marijuana and two handguns during the bust. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  2. The Drug Enforcement Administration busted a large meth lab in Gwinnett County with ties to a Mexican drug cartel. According to DEA special agent in charge Robert Murphy, the laboratory was set up in a residential neighborhood by two individuals from the Mexican cartel. There were over 2,000 pounds of meth in the lab and over 100 pounds of meth in a truck that led authorities to the lab. (WSB-TV Atlanta)
  3. Demonte Engle, a 23-year-old from Gwinnett County, recently pleaded guilty to one count of human trafficking after attempting to solicit a 14-year-old girl. Engle was sentenced to five years of house arrest followed by 20 years of probation. He will also be required to register as a sex offender. (Georgia Patch)

  5. Loganville's annual Christmas parade and lighting of the tree at the Town Green will return this year on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Downtown Loganville at 235 Main Street. The "Christmas in Grayson" event will take place on Dec. 4 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (City of Loganville, City of Grayson)
