Wilkerson Qualifies for Grayson Mayor's Seat
Councilwoman Allison Wilkerson, who's held her position for 12 years, has been the only person so far to qualify.

Qualifying week for the Grayson City Council and mayor started Monday, Aug. 26, and so far, one person has already qualified to run.Â
Councilwoman Allison Wilkerson has officially entered the race to run for the mayor's seat. Current Mayor Jim Hinkle has said in the past that he will not be seeking re-election, and Wilkerson announced at the city council meeting last Monday that she will be running.
Wilkerson has been on the council for 12 years and currently holds Post 2, another seat that is open come January. Post 4 also is open and is held by Councilwoman Katie Mitchell. According to the city of Grayson, no one has qualified for a city council seat as of late afternoon Monday.
Wilkerson and anyone else seeking a spot on the council has until Wednesday to qualify. For more details, click here.
