Winning Lottery Ticket Sold in Walton County

A registered nurse from Covington won $250,000 in a Georgia Lottery instant game.

A Covington woman won $250,000 from the Georgia Lottery in a new instant scratch-off game.

Jessica Herrick won the top prize in the Harley-Davidson instant game, the lottery said in a news release.

The winning ticket was purchased at Walton Truck Stop, 1490 Highway 78 E. in Monroe.

Herrick, 39, said she scratched the ticket while in her car.

“I started screaming, and I called my husband,” she said. “It doesn’t seem real.”

The lucky winner and her husband, Michael, have five children, and Herrick is a registered nurse.

With her winnings, Herrick plans to purchase a new home.
