Woman Found Dead After Firefighters Answer Call To Town House
A woman in her late 60s was found dead Thursday night after Gwinnett firefighters answered an emergency call to a Lilburn town house.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett firefighters found a woman dead in a Lilburn town house Thursday night when they answered an emergency call there.
Crews responded at about 8:21 p.m. after a neighbor called 911 to report smoke and flames coming from the second floor of the town house. When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames in an upstairs bedroom.
After an initial search of the town house, they found a woman in her late 60s dead in the room. She was the only person in the town house at the time. No other injuries were reported.

A public-information officer for Gwinnett’s fire department declined to identify the woman or describe her injuries, citing HIPAA privacy laws.
According to Gwinnett County Fire and Rescue Captain Tommy Rutledge as reported by The Gwinnett Daily Post, the town house was located on Willow Gate Circle in Lilburn.

Although the blaze was contained to that bedroom, it caused extensive smoke and water damage throughout the townhome.
The fire’s cause is undetermined and still being investigated, according to a statement posted Friday by Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.
