Here are the top three stories in Macon today:

1. On Monday, May 15, Passion Watkins of Macon pleaded guilty to the murder of 37-year-old Melanie Powers and her unborn child and was sentenced to life in prison plus 10 years, with the possibility of parole. In 2020, Watkins murdered her father's pregnant ex-girlfriend, who she was living with at the time. Watkins expressed remorse for her actions but could not explain why she did it to the Bibb County courtroom. (wgxa.tv)
2. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office confirmed that two women were shot on Monday morning, May 15, just after 2:45 a.m. on the 4000 block of Marse Allen Road in Macon. The investigation is underway, and according to investigators, their injuries are not life-threatening. As of May 15, no further information has been released. (wgxa.tv)
3. The line-up for this year's Bragg Jam in Macon was released! On Jul. 29, there will be "a diverse blend of local acts and national headliners across downtown Macon stages." • Bibb County Deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspected mail thief. Deputies released a security video that shows the suspect driving on Allied Industrial Boulevard and taking mail from a mailbox, and then driving away.
