1 Dead, 3 Injured In Sunday Crash: Cobb Police
A man driving a scooter crashed into a car — which then hit a second car — Sunday morning at Macland Road and Ernest Barrett Parkway.
COBB COUNTY, GA — One man is dead and three others are injured after a fatal crash between a scooter and two cars Sunday morning, said Sgt. Wayne Delk, a spokesperson for the Cobb County Police Department.
Investigators said at 9:51 a.m. Sunday, 32-year-old Jason Sklar of Marietta was driving a motorized scooter south on Ernest W. Barrett Parkway when he ran a red light at the intersection of the parkway and Macland Road.
Sklar then crashed into a Volkswagen Tiguan, which then struck a Toyota Corolla. Sklar was ejected from his seat in the collision and died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene, Delk said.

The driver of the Volkswagen and her passenger — 49-year-old Latonya Herndon and 17-year-old Ana Herndon, both of Powder Springs — as well as the Toyota driver, 29-year-old Stacy Grant of North Charleston, South Carolina, all sustained minor injuries and were taken to Wellstar Cobb Hospital for treatment.
Cobb County police are still investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit at 770-499-3987.
