Suspect Sought In Deadly Head-On Crash In Marietta

Warrants have been acquired to charge a man with vehicular homicide in connection with a fatal head-on crash in Marietta, police say.

MARIETTA, GA — Police say they are seeking the whereabouts of a suspect in connection with the head-on crash that killed an Illinois man at Powder Springs Street.

The deadly crash happened the morning of Sept. 20 near Laurel Springs Lane. Marietta Police on Tuesday said they are searching for Keondre Robinson, 18, of Mableton, in connection with the crash.

Robinson was accused of entering the southbound lanes in the wrong direction and hitting a Chevrolet Silverado head on, killing Santiago Zarate-Vicente, 32, of Chicago, and causing heavy damage to both vehicles.

Two passengers in the Silverado and Robinson were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, police said. It is unknown when Robinson was released from the hospital.

However, police said warrants have been obtained to charge Robinson with first-degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence (drugs) and reckless driving.
