11th Annual Marietta Reads Event

The 2013 Marietta Reads! event offers a book fair, book costume characters, celebrity readers, school drama and dance performances and guest appearances by Marietta Reads! mascot Mari-Etta.

Marietta Reads!, the Marietta City Schools (MCS) citywide effort to foster reading and literacy in the community, will celebrate its eleventh-year anniversary Saturday, Sept. 28, in Glover Park, 50 Park Square, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“As it has done from the start, Marietta Reads! continues to have a significant impact on reading in our schools, and in engaging our community to improve literacy,” Jill Sims, MCS Executive Director, Curriculum and Instruction, said in a press release.

“Across the school district, we reinforce the importance of reading to all of our students every day, and Marietta Reads! makes a difference.”
