Marietta Shooting Injures 2 Near Intersection

The Monday afternoon shooting in Marietta injured two people, one of which had to be taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

MARIETTA, GA — Two people were shot and injured Monday in Marietta, police said.

Marietta Police said officers responded around 1:15 p.m. to Roosevelt Circle. They were tending to the first person shot when they received a call that a second person in the area suffered a gunshot wound, police said.

Limited details were available, but police said the shooting happened near the North Marietta Parkway and Allgood Road intersection - less than a mile from Roosevelt.

One of the victims was taken to Children's Hospital of Atlanta and another to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, police said. Their injuries were not life threatening, police said.

The investigation remained active, and police did not say what led to the shooting or identify any potential suspects.
