2nd Mayoral Candidate Removed From Mableton Ballot
The candidate cited in a letter 'recent unforeseen events ' as the reason for his withdrawal.
MABLETON, GA — Mayoral candidate Charles Ford has withdrawn from the race, Cobb County officials said late Wednesday afternoon.
Ford cited in a letter "recent unforeseen events" as the reason for his withdrawal, Janine Eveler, director of the Cobb County Elections and Registration Office, told Patch.
Ford's name has been removed from the ballot.

The announcement comes shortly after the elections office announced another mayoral candidate was removed. Rev. Henry Okafor was disqualified from the race due to a returned check. City Council candidate Paul Chukelu was also disqualified for the same reason.
The Mableton city election will be held on March 21.
