At some point, the situation deteriorated and Funches threatened Green and her children with a handgun, authorities said. Fearing for her life and that of her children, Green said that when she saw an opportunity she was able to retrieve her handgun and shoot Funches, who died at the scene.

Cobb authorities are still investigating the shooting, but they said that it is "related to criminal gang activity." Anyone with new information is urged to contact the Marietta Police Department tip line at (770) 794-6990.
