The Marietta Police Department must comply with over 463 standards in order to remain accredited.

As a part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

The session will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the City of Marietta Council Chambers located at 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060.

If for some reason an individual cannot speak at the public information session but would still like to provide comments to the assessment team, he/she may do so by telephone.  The public may call 770-794-5374 on Monday, Oct. 7, between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Telephone comments, as well as appearances at the public information session, are limited and must address the Department’s ability to comply with CALEA standards.

Copies of the standards are available at Marietta Police Department Headquarters, 240 Lemon Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060.  The contact is Lieutenant Tanya Twaddell at 770-794-5386.

The CALEA Program Manager for Marietta Police Department is Vince Dauro.  The assessment team is composed of public safety practitioners from similar, but out-of-state agencies. The assessors will review written materials, interview individuals, and visit offices and other locations where compliance can be witnessed.
