  1. The Cobb County Police Department held active shooter training for recruits at Six Flags Over Georgia. The department's Academy simulated a real active shooter situation at the park with simulation weapons, victim role players, and smoke deployments. The training is part of the Academy's 20th week of its 27-week program. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded Cobb County Water with its WaterSense Sustained Excellence Award. This is the fifth year in a row that Cobb County Water has earned the award. It was presented in Las Vegas at the WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition on Thursday, Oct. 6.   3. Electrical power has been restored to the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. The electrical outage occurred on Monday and lasted for over 12 hours. During the outage, county deputies increased the number of safety and security checks. Medical staff were on standby for the duration of the outage. (Cobb County Courier)
