Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:
- The Marietta Police Department reports that a man was shot and killed on Sunday evening near Carolina Road. The shooting was the result of an escalated argument. The department responded to the incident after receiving calls about shots being fired. The department is holding the suspected shooter for questioning. (Marietta Patch)
- Staffers with the Cobb County Public Library and the Cobb County School District have been recognized for their work with the Books2Keep Bookmobile initiative. The staffers were awarded the Preschool Outreach and School Services Inspirations Award. The recognition is presented by the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services. - The average price of gasoline in Cobb County has gone up by three cents compared to last week. Despite the increase, AAA - The Auto Club Group has forecasted a drop in price due to a slowing economy. At this time, the average price of a gallon of gas in Cobb County is $3.25. (Cobb County Courier)
