'Backing the Need' School Supply Drive In Cobb: How To Donate

The Cobb County Police Department and nonprofit KIDS CARE are requesting school supply donations for students in need in Cobb County.

COBB COUNTY, GA — The Cobb County Police Department and a Marietta-based nonprofit have been partnering to gather up school supplies for students in need in Cobb County, and there are still a few days left to donate.

The "Backing the Need" School Supply Drive runs through July 23, and donations of new backpacks, nonperishable snacks and new school supplies are accepted. All donations will be given to elementary, middle and high school aged students in need.

Monetary donations are also being collected for direct purchase of school supplies on the KIDS CARE — which stands for Kindness In Doing Service (KIDS) Connecting And Respecting Everyone (CARE) — website here.

This Friday, July 23, school supply donations can be dropped off at the Cobb County Civic Center between 8 a.m. and noon. The center is located at 548 S. Marietta Parkway SE in Marietta.

Now through July 23, you can also drop off donations at the following local business and Cobb County police precinct drop boxes during business hours:
