Body Found Near Marietta Hotel Fire

Investigators don't know if the man died as a result of the fire at the Regency Inn & Suites.

MARIETTA, GA -- A man's body was found near an overnight hotel fire in Marietta. The body was found after the fire at the Regency Inn & Suites was put out. Investigators don't know if the man died as a result of the fire.

Firefighters responded shortly before 1 am Sunday morning to the fire at 642 Cobb Parkway South. Five engines and two trucks responded, and the damage from the fire was contained to about two wooded acres directly behind the motel. No structures were damaged by the fire.

Officials have not released the name of the deceased.
