Charles D. Switzer Public Library Dedication Scheduled

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners renamed the Central Library in July in recognition of Charles Switzer's record of public service.

The dedication of the Charles D. Switzer Public Library, formerly the Central Library, will be held on Friday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners renamed the library in July in recognition of Charles Switzer's record of public service.

The Smyrna resident served on the library system's Board of Trustees for 30 years, overseeing projects such as the digitization of the library's catalog, the construction of many libraries, and the expansion of services to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Cobb County.

The Charles D. Switzer Public Library is located at 266 Roswell Street in downtown Marietta, just east of the Marietta Square.
