- The Marietta City Council will review a developer's request to annex land for the development of 600 homes in Marietta when the council meets on Wednesday. Cobb County objected to the request in December but failed to form an arbitration panel within the necessary time to do so. (Yahoo! News)
- During the Marietta City Council's Wednesday meeting, the council is expected to approve updates and changes to a busy downtown intersection a few blocks south of Marietta square. As part of the changes, the intersection will get an added traffic signal and three painted crosswalks. The project is expected to cost about $570,000. (Yahoo! News)
- Registration is open for Marietta's Gem City Mid-Winter Camp. Children ages six to 12 can attend the camp, which is being organized by Marietta's Parks and Recreation Department. It will run from Feb. 20-24. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)

- The Cobb NAACP will be sponsoring the official Cobb Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on Monday, Jan. 16 at 10:00 a.m. The celebration will take place at the Jennie T. Anderson Theater in Marietta's Cobb Civic Center and will feature performances from singers, dancers, musicians, and more. (East Cobb News)
- Work began this week on Marietta's latest downtown area project at Powder Springs Street and Waverly Way. The project is expected to run until April, and until then, residents may experience an impact on traffic and possible detours. (City of Marietta, Ga., Government via Facebook)
