  1. The City of Marietta is giving back to a great cause. The Marietta City Council has presented Habitat for Humanity with a check to help them build more home for Marietta locals. The funds will be used for Marietta's public service housing program. Its long-term goal is to provide six homes for Marietta city employees. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. The Cobb Animal Shelter and Cobb County Courier have named this sweet pooch the Pet of the Day. Leo is shy but gentle, and looking for someone to cuddle him and spoil him rotten!   3. The Cobb Board of Commissioners has voted to ask for additional state funds to rebuild the Gritters Library branch. The board will be asking for a $1 million grant from Georgia Public Library Services. The project was originally expected to cost $8.6 million. Currently, the library is $2.5 million short of what it needs to complete the restoration project. (East Cobb News)
