Cobb Chairwoman Tests Positive For COVID-19, Says Symptoms Are Improving

Lisa Cupid, chairwoman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating at home.

COBB COUNTY, GA — Cobb County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Lisa Cupid tested positive for COVID-19, the county announced Wednesday.

Cupid got tested after feeling ill earlier this week, county officials said, and she is now isolating at home. She added that her symptoms are improving.

“I can only imagine how people who are not vaccinated deal with this virus,” Cupid said. “If you have not been vaccinated and boosted, I urge you to do so and if you feel ill please get tested for your sake and others.”

Cupid said she was able to get tested at Jim R. Miller Park without waiting. Anyone wishing to get tested or vaccinated are encouraged to register before heading to one of the Cobb County sites, which can be done online at cobbanddouglaspublichealth.com.
