Cobb County has launched its effort to form a new 5-year Comprehensive Strategic Plan, a document that “will be the primary strategy to lead the ongoing vision and priorities of Cobb County.”

The Board of Commissioners approved the preparation of the plan earlier this year, and the county selected Accenture LLP to help formulate it.
A significant component is getting input from those who live or work in Cobb about what they see as the county’s priorities. Residents can provide feedback to formulate initiatives based on community needs and help the county develop and deliver better services.

One way for residents to participate is through an online survey. Those who live or work in Cobb County can access the digital survey via a desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone. It should take 10 minutes to complete.

The survey will be active through Dec. 23.
Hard copies of the survey can be found at Cobb’s libraries and senior centers.
Accenture is also helping gather input through a series of “listening sessions.”
These sessions allow community members to impact the county's future by sharing experiences, insights, and aspirations with district and county leadership.
These are the times and locations for the upcoming listening sessions:
- District 2 meeting (east Cobb area) - 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Boy Scouts of America Area Council, 1800 Circle 75 Pkwy, Atlanta) Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Comprehensive Plan Listening Session will be an opportunity to learn about the Comprehensive Plan and share input. Those planning on attending are asked to submit an RSVP here.

County Manager Dr. Jackie McMorris championed the strategic plan. In an agenda item, she told the board the project “will include measurable objectives to help improve the County’s responsiveness to the public, to adapt to changes in the economy, to remain competitive, to welcome tourists, to sustain the County’s assets, and to recommend a unified vision for years to come.”
