Cobb County Restaurant Inspections: Shane's Rib Shack, Bojangle's

COBB COUNTY, GA — Just over 50 Cobb County restaurants and food-service operations, including schools, were inspected in the last week, with 44 of those entities receiving As.

In addition, nine of them received grades of B. One received a C — Sushinobo in Vinings — and none received an unacceptable score.

Additionally, two Smyrna restaurants that received unacceptable scores last week were re-inspected, and both passed: The Vineyard Cafe & Wine Bar, which upped its score to an A, and Cafe Lucia, which upped its score to a B.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from the best possible score of 100. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points.

Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70.
