Higgenbotham was “aware something was not right with her child but refused to get the child any medical treatment,” investigators wrote in a warrant obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Another tenant of the apartment complex, Sidrick Melancon is charged in the case. Melancon faces charges of influencing a witness, according to jail records. He allegedly told Higgenbotham to lie to investigators, the AJC reports.
