Cobb Sheriff's Office Worker Faces Child Molestation Charges
The civilian employee was arrested and terminated Wednesday after being accused of aggravated child molestation, authorities say.
MARIETTA, GA — A civilian staffer with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office has been arrested on charges of aggravated child molestation, authorities said.
Ivan Munoz was arrested early Wednesday on two counts, the sheriff's office said.
Munoz has served since 2000 with the sheriff's office, where he worked as a criminal justice specialist until he was terminated, authorities said.

"After being briefed on the investigation and pending charges, I immediately terminated this individual's employment," Cobb County Sheriff Craig Owens said in a news release. "These are particularly egregious charges, and his behavior goes against everything we stand for in law enforcement. We must do everything we can to stop the victimization of innocent children."
The Marietta Police Department is investigating the case.
