Cobb Woman Dies After Church Parking Lot Accident
According to investigators, a white 1992 Mercury Sable began backing rapidly through the parking lot of Milford Baptist Church where it collided with a concrete wall.
The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program Unit is investigating a fatality crash on Sunday morning that occurred at 1030 Milford Church Road in Marietta.
According to investigators, a white 1992 Mercury Sable began backing rapidly through the parking lot of Milford Baptist Church where it collided with a concrete wall. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the driver slumped over the wheel just prior to the collision.
The driver has been identified as 68-year-old Katie O. Palmer of Marietta. Palmer was transported by ambulance to Wellstar Cobb Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office has assumed jurisdiction of the body and will assist investigators in determining the cause of death.
