Cobb County police are investigating the Saturday crash, which left a man in critical condition and one with non-life-threatening injuries.
COBB COUNTY, GA — Two men from Dallas were injured in a car accident over the weekend in Cobb County, police said, and an investigation is underway.
At 11:41 p.m. Saturday, a black 2006 GMC Sierra — driven by James A. Wheaton, 39, of Dallas — was traveling northbound on Hiram Acworth Highway (State Route 92). Another car was stopped in the northbound lane of the highway, waiting to turn left onto Kensley Way, according to police.
Wheaton "improperly passed" the stopped car and entered the southbound lane before continuing north, passing the stopped car. During the improper pass, he hit the stopped car head-on, which was driven by Billy J. Jones, 45, also of Dallas.
