Discover the Possibilities During Library Card Sign-Up Month

September is Library Card Sign Up Month, a time when the Cobb County Public Library System joins with the American Library Association and public libraries nationwide to make sure that everyone has a free library card.

Cardholders should ensure that their library cards are valid and encourage family members, friends and neighbors to get a card. 

It’s easy to get one, and library cards are free for residents, business owners and property owners.

Library cards can be used for school, to discover entertainment options, to learn a new language, to find a job, to discover family trees, to download eBooks, to research business opportunities, to take up a new hobby and more. 

Throughout the course of the month, the library will host a number of activities, including:

• Webinar: Digital Magazines at Your Fingertips – Virtual, Thursday, September 5 at 10 am
• Canine Companions for Independence – Vinings Library, Tuesday, September 10 at 3:30 pm
• We ART America: a 9/11 Remembrance Art Project – Kennesaw Library, Wednesday, September 11 at 5 pm
• Writers Workshop with Author Margaret Johnson-Hodge – South Cobb Regional Library, Thursday, September 19, 11:30 am
